In recent weeks, the Venezuelan embassy in the US capital of Washington DC has become an outpost of the country’s political crisis. American activists supporting Venzuela’s President Nicolas Maduro have occupied the building. They’re trying to stop diplomats who support opposition leader Juan Guaido from taking it over. The US and the Organization of American States recognize Guaido as Venezuela’s President, but the activists say the US government is helping engineer a coup in Venezula. DW’s Helena Humphreys sent us this report from the embassy.
