GREAT LAKES, Ill. (Jan. 3, 2018) U.S. Navy recruits practice fighting fires as a team at the USS Chief firefighting trainer at Recruit Training Command. Recruits practice fire fighting through hands-on learning. Instructors spend several days training recruits, covering topics ranging from basic damage control equipment to advanced shipboard fire fighting techniques. About 30,000 to 40,000 recruits graduate annually from the Navy’s only boot camp. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class Amanda S. Kitchner/Released)
