1. Afghanistan asks India for speedy development of Iranian port.

Afghanistan’s foreign minister have asked India to expedite development of a strategic port in Iran to bolster a trade route for land-locked Central Asian country.

Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj responded that India would speed up the port development and begin supplying wheat to Afghanistan within weeks through Chabahar port.

2. India Sticks to Plan of Leasing 3rd Russian Nuclear Submarine.

India is pushing for a plan to station its shipbuilding team at a Russian shipyard to witness the complex refitting -and modernization process of nuclear submarines.

India has decided to go ahead with its plan to lease a third nuclear attack submarine from Russia.
According to Sources , Project 971 SSN submarine has been picked out from among many options and it would undergo massive repairs and modernization at a Russian shipyard before being handed over to India.
The refit will be carried out at the Russian shipyard in Severodvinsk and the refitted submarine will be named ‘INS Chakra-III.’
The entire process will be completed over an estimated six-year time frame.

3. Mattala rajapaksa international airport deal with India : No military operations.

The proposed agreement with India on the privatisation of the Mattala International Airport will include a clause that the airport will not be used for any military purposes.
The air traffic control tower would also be controlled by Sri Lanka. The two conditions would be part of the agreement expected to be finalised before December.
Sri Lanka included a similar clause in the Concession Agreement for the Hambantota Port with a Chinese company in July.
